Balasore: A goods train laden with coal caught fire nerar Soro railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to sources, the fire was noticed by locals when the goods train was en route to Kolkata from Dhamra. Fire was reported in three wagons of the coal-laden train. No injury to anyone was reported in the incident.
Fire services and station officials were immediately informed about the fire.
After getting alerted, the firefighters from Soro rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
The train has now left for its destination.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Investigation is underway.
