Bhubaneswar: A cobra was rescued from the hostel of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration in the city on Sunday evening.

The employees of the academy spotted the cobra lying under the utensils in the kitchen and informed the higher officials. The administrative officer of the academy requested general secretary of Snake Helpline Subhendu Mallik to rescue the cobra.

Subhendu sent highly experienced rescuer of the Helpline Purnachandra Das to the academy to rescue the cobra. On arriving at the academy, Das went to the kitchen and caught hold of the cobra from under the utensils.

Das put the 4-ft cobra inside a bag and took it to the outskirts of the city where he leased the snake in a natural habitat.
