Cold Eases In Odisha: Bhubaneswar Sees 4.2°C Rise In Night Temp In 3 Days, Dense Fog In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: A layer of shallow fog was seen the Odisha capital, where the night temperature rose further to 17.4°C, 2.2°C above normal, in the last 24 hours.

Bhubaneswar has witnessed a rise of 4.2°C in the last three days. The city had recorded 16.7°C on January  14, 13.4°C on January 13 and 13.2°C on January 12.

A thick blanket of dense fog engulfed twin city Cuttack, reducing visibility to 200 metres, even as the mercury hovered around 15.5°C for the second consecutive day. The city had recorded 13.5°C on January 14, 12.8°C on January 12 and 12.5°C on January 11.

Dense fog was also seen in Nayagarh and Phulbani and moderate fog at Bhawanipatna, Rourkela and Keonjhar this morning.

G Udayagiri, the hill station in Kandhamal, was coldest place at 9°C as against 10.2°C the previous day. It was the only place to record sub-10°C in the state, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather agency has predicted no large change in the. night temperature for next 3-4 days and a fall by 2-3°C thereafter across the state.

 

Dense fog warning has also been issued for Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts till January 16 morning, with shallow to moderate fog likely in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Angul and Deogarh. Dense fog warning continues for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal during the subsequent 24 hours. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur,Angul, Deogarh, Nayagarh till January 17 morning and in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Nayagarh and Deogarh till January 18 morning.
