Bhubaneswar: With northwesterly/northerly dry and cold wind at lower levels penetrating Odisha, isolated cold wave conditions will continue to prevail in interior parts of the state during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Saturday.
The MeT office has issued yellow warning till 8.30 am on January 31.
According to the midday bulletin, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Angul and Keonjhar will experience the winter chill till 8.30 am on January 30.
People of these districts have been advised to stay indoors and not to travel in two-wheelers or open cars at night.
Cold wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Balangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, Sonepur, and Kalahandi during the subsequent 24 hours.
The minimum temperature will remain below normal at most places in the state during this period and witness a gradual rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in the subsequent three days, it added.
Notably, Daringbadi and Phulbali were the coldest in Odisha at 6 degree Celsius on Saturday.
