Bhubaneswar: Temperature came down sharply in most parts of Odisha today as eight places in the central and western districts recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
While Kandhamal recorded the lowest temperature at 3.5 degrees, Daringbadi recorded 4 degrees followed by Angul (9), Jharsuguda (8.4), Keonjhar (9.4), Sundargarh (7), Hirakud (7.9) and Balangir (8.7).
Besides, temperature also fell sharply in the coastal belts. The twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 13.6 and 13.7 degrees Celsius respectively, said a local Met office release here.
The Met office has said the cold wave condition would continue for the next five days till February 2 after which there will be a gradual increase in the night temperature.
It also said that moderate to dense fog would occur in some parts of coastal Odisha and adjoining districts.
