Bhubaneswar: Isolated cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir and Nuapada districts in Odisha till 8.30 am on Friday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday has issued Yellow warnings for these districts. People have been advised to stay indoors during the night and early morning and use multiple clothes to avoid exposure to cold. They have been asked to avoid riding two-wheelers/open cars, especially at night.
Notably, one or two places in Jharsuguda, Boudh, Rayagada and Balangir in Interior Odisha and south coast districts of Khurda and Nayagarh experienced chilly weather conditions during the last 24 hours.
While mercury dipped below 10 degree Celsius at 12 places, it hovered at 10 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day in the last three days in Bhubaneswar and was the third-lowest minimum temperature that the city experienced in December in the last 11 years.

The MeT office further said that the night temperature will gradually rise by 2-4 degree Celsius during the next two days.
