Cold Wave In Coastal Odisha To Intensify

Bhubaneswar: Night temperature in most parts of Odisha, especially the coastal belt, will fall appreciably as the cold wave will intensify in this region in the next 12 hours, said the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, in a release here on Friday.

Talking to the media, Director of the Meteorological Centre, Dr H. R. Biswas said that there was a rise in the night temperature, especially in the coastal region due to the westerly wind under the influence of a trough line over Odisha. But as the weather has become clear from Friday afternoon, there will be a sharp fall in the night temperature in the coastal belt in the next 12 hours.
Under the influence of the trough line, there was light rainfall at one or two places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada on Friday.

Meanwhile, the temperature recorded in the state was lowest in Keonjhar at 9.8 degree Celsius.
