Bhubaneswar: The cold wave has intensified in most parts of interior Odisha as the night temperature fell below 10 Degrees Celsius in Sonepur and Kandhamal district on Tuesday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature recorded till 5.30 am on Tuesday was lowest in Sonepur at 9.4 Degrees Celsius while Daringbadi recorded 9.6 Degrees.
Besides, the temperature remained under 15 Degrees in Angul (11), Jharsuguda (13.4), Keonjhar (14.4), Talcher (13.5), Bhawanipatna (11.4), Koraput (11.2), Phulbani (10) and Malkangiri (14.5).
The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also recorded 16 and 16.3 Degrees Celsius respectively.
As per the IMD forecast, there will be no large change in the minimum night temperature during the next 2-3 days.
There will be a slight rise in the night temperature in the state due to light rainfall in some parts of south coastal districts for two days on November 12 and 13. An appreciable fall in the night temperature would be experienced from November 14 by 3-5°C at many places over the interior districts and by 2-3 °C at many places over the coastal districts.
