Cold Wave: Night Temp Plummets To 3°C In G Udayagiri, Yellow Alert For 3 Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: With cold wave conditions returning to Odisha, the mercury plummeted to 3 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Odisha’s Kandhamal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.

Seven other places in the state recorded below 10 degree Celsius with night temperature falling by 2-3 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Phulbani: 5.5°C

Kirei: 7.8°C

Semiliguda: 8.1°C

Rourkela: 8.5°C

Jharsuguda: 8.6°C

Sundargarh: 9°C

Daringbadi: 9°C

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack saw the mercury drop to 14.6 degree Celsius and 14.4 degree Celsius respectively.

According to the MeT office, cold wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Kandhamal till 8.30 am on Saturday. There will be no large change in the night temperature across Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days, it added.
