Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, in a release on Saturday said that the cold wave condition in Odisha will prevail for another three days up to January 8.
According to the release, barring the western and interior districts that are under the grip of intense cold wave, there was a slight increase in the night temperature in the coastal region during the last 72 hours. However, with intense cold in the northern Himalayan region in the last 24 hours with heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, cold wind has started blowing across Odisha. As a result, there has been an appreciable fall in the night temperature in the coastal belt in the state by about 2 degree Celsius. Considering these factors, the cold wave condition in the coastal region will continue and most likely to prevail till January 8.
