Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions are likely to continue at some places in Odisha till 8.30 am on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Saturday.
Yellow warning has been issued for one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Kandhamal districts.
While there will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 24 hours, the mercury will gradually rise by 2°C to 3°C thereafter at a few places in the state, the MeT office said in its mid-day bulletin.
Notably, G Udayagiri remained the coldest place in Odisha for the second consecutive day at 3.2°C. The mercury had plummeted to 3°C in this hill station in Kandhamal district on Friday.
Nine other places in the state recorded minimum temperature below 10°C in the last 24 hours. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.4°C and 14.8°C respectively.
The IMD had attributed this drop in the temperature to strengthening of northerly and north-westerly dry winds at the lower level.
