New Delhi: National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Electronics & IT, and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Ministry of Education, will on Thursday jointly launch CollabCAD Software — a collaborative network, computer-enabled software system which provides total engineering solution from 2D drafting and detailing to 3D product design for students and faculty of Engineering Graphics Curriculum.
NIC, CBSE, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and NITI Aayog will also release a comprehensive e-book on CollabCAD 3D modeling. The e-book, to be released through CollabCAD portal, will guide CAD students, beginners and professionals in understanding and using CollabCAD Software.
Then aim is to provide a platform for students across the country to create and modify 3D digital designs with creativity and imagination. The software will also enable students to collaborate over designs and access the same design data for storage and visualization.
CBSE chairman Manoj Ahuja will introduce CollabCAD Software for Engineering Graphics (Subject Code 046) students of Class XI and XII.
CollabCAD software will be used for practical assignments for making different types of 3D designs and 2D drawings.
Students from 140-plus schools across the country and in the Middle East (affiliated with CBSE) will have access to this software.
