Sambalpur: Students of two schools in Sambalpur district had a special guest teacher, who conducted classes at the school and also took stock of the midday programme, on Wednesday.
He was none other than district collector Shubham Saxena. He made a surprise visit to a primary school at Badobahal village under Similipal panchayat and another school at Kaeni village under Ghusuramal panchayat.
While interacting with the collector, the students expressed their desire to visit a city since they have never been to one. He then directed the teacher to organise an excursion to a city for the students in the coming days.
The collector also expressed satisfaction with the answers of the students during the class.
Locals have appreciated this effort of the bureaucrat.
Saxena was posted as Sambalpur collector in February this year. Prior to this appointment, the 2013-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer served as Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation commissioner.
