Jagatsinghpur: A college girl was charred to death after her house caught fire at Routa Nuagan village under Raghunathpur block in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday evening.
According to sources, the incident took place when the deceased, identified as Mama Das, a Plus II student of Siddha Baranga College at Punanga, was alone at home.
Following information, a fire bridge team rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Two rooms of the house were completed gutted.
The Firemen suspect a short circuit might have caused the fire.
Police have taken the body for postmortem and begun an investigation.
