College Girl Kidnapped In Odisha’s Nayagarh; Students Stage Protest

Nayagarh: A girl was kidnapped by some bike-borne youth near Gania College in Nayagarh district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the girl of Gania is a Plus-III student of SSRNJ Mahavidyalaya. She was going to college on her bicycle with friends when two youths came in a car and kidnapped the girl and one of her friends. Some of the college girls, who had accompanied them, informed other students.

Soon after, the college students staged a protest in front of the college gate and demanded arrest of the kidnappers. Police reached the spot and tried to convince the students. Gania Tehsildar, who also reached the spot, assured of action following which the students stopped their protest.

Police contacted the kidnapped girl’s family members after which they learnt that she was in love with a youth since long. She has allegedly been kidnapped by her boyfriend. However, they left her friend in mid-way. The police have sealed the road and started searching the kidnapper and the girl.

Till reports last came in, the girl is yet to be traced.
