College Girl Murdered In Ganjam, Accused Surrenders

Berhampur: A college girl was allegedly killed by a youth at S Nuagaon in Khariaguda panchayat under Jarada police limits in Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Bhabani Behera, a resident of Puri district.

Behera was living in her maternal uncle’s house. She was missing for the last two days, so her family members lodged a police complaint.

Meanwhile, the accused, Gautam Pradhan has confessed to the crime and surrendered.

During interrogation, Pradhan said that he had killed the girl and dumped her body in an abandoned well near Keshapur area in the district.

Based on the complaint, the cops swung into action and managed to recover the body from the well on Monday.

According to police sources, Gautam killed Bhawani because she was forcing him to marry her.
