Berhampur: Gayatri Devi, in-charge principal of SKCG Autonomous College at Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati district, died after a freak accident on Wednesday.
The principal slipped on the staircase when she was on way to attending a video conference at the conference hall in the office of the district collector.
She was rushed to the district headquarters hospital, but was declared brought dead.
The deceased was head of the department of Odia and in charge of the post of principal since last year.
“I had a meeting with Gayatri Devi a fortnight ago about the Plus Two evaluation centre and I am stunned to hear that she is no more”, said Deputy Secretary of the zonal office of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Kulamani Ojha.
