Nayagarh: The principal of a college was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with girl students in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.
The incident reportedly took place in the college at Kendudhipi under the jurisdiction of Itamati Police Station in the district. The accused principal has been identified as Pradipta Hati.
According to sources, two girl students of Plus II science of the college had approached the principal to seek solution to some problems.
However, the two students claimed that the principal made some inappropriate remarks instead of listening to them. It was also alleged that he tweaked their cheeks and tried to touch them inappropriately.
The girls further alleged that the principal threatened that he would reduce their marks in the examination if they disclose about the incident to others.
The girls later lodged a written complaint at Itamati Police Station and reported the matter to the District Welfare Officer.
Acting on the complaint, police took the principal into custody and further investigation is underway.
