Nayagarh: The Sadar Police in Odisha’s Nayagarh district are on the hunt for the miscreants, who had brutally assaulted a student of SCS College, Puri, near his village Parbatipur under Fetegarh police limits late on Wednesday.
According to the complaint lodged by his family members, Laba Mahapatra was on the way to his village when he was attacked by some miscreants.
When he did not reach home, the family members looked for him and found him lying in a pool of blood with deep wounds on his head and hands, on the outskirts of the village. He was then rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Laba had opposed a person of his village for illegal ganja trade.
