Bhubaneswar: A college student was critically injured after being stabbed allegedly by one of his classmates in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The injured student has been identified as Biswajit Swain, stated to be a Plus III second year student. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The accused was identified as Chandan Panda.
According to sources, the incident took place at Pandav Nagar area in the state capital after a heated argument between the two over some issue. It was alleged that Chandan, along with some non-students, stabbed Biswajit with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot.
Thereafter, a profusely bleeding Biswajit was rushed to a private hospital in the city.
On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation. Investigation into the incident is in progress and efforts are on to trace the accused.
