Balangir: A youth was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a live wire at Santipada in Balangir town.
The deceased, Soumya Ranjan Bhoi, was a student of an ITI college in Balangir and was staying on rent in a mess here. He was a native of Tamamura village in Sonepur district.
According to reports, Soumya was injured after he accidentally came in contact with a 33-kv live wire while drying clothes on the terrace.
Police and fire personnel rushed him to a local hospital. Soumya was later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla after his condition deteriorated, but he died while undergoing treatment.
