Koraput: Less than a week after the sensational gang rape of a minor girl in Koraput district grabbed headlines, a similar incident was reported from Ganjam district on Monday.
According to reports, the survivour, a Plus III second year student, was returning home at Bhanjanagar from Budhakendu Thakurani Temple near Gangpur with her fiance when six miscreants intercepted them. They thrashed the girl’s fiance, forcibly took her to a nearby forest and allegedly raped her.
Six persons have been detained in connection with the incident, police sources said.
