College union poll on Sept 23

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department on Friday announced the schedule for college union elections across Odisha.
According to a notification issued by the department, the election will be held on September 23 from 8 am to 2 pm. Counting of votes will be done thereafter and results declared by evening.
Candidates can file nomination papers on September 16 between 9 am and 12 pm. The scrutiny of the same will be held from 2 pm on that day.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations is September 18 and the final list of candidates will be published at 5 in the evening.
The ‘why I stand for’ meeting will be held on September 22 and the oath-taking ceremony on September 25.
The guidelines issued previously in the matter along with that of J M Lyngdoh Committee’s should be followed in letter and spirit, it added.
