Cartist Yatra Zooms Into Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Where there’s a wheel there’s a way. And if there are 200 wheels, it comes with a Volkswagen Beetle inside. Come see for yourself, this treat for car lovers at the Cartist Yatra going on at the Esplanade Mall here.

You will find a 1929 Chevrolet convertible, an AC Cobra, Standard Herald, the Hindustan Ambassador, an Innova, a Ritz, skeleton of a Maruti Gypsy and Maruti 800 and an autorickshaw. Of course, the cars come with a touch of art. The Cartist Yatra encourages artists to use automobiles as a canvas in order to promote “unity”. Work by over 1,000 artists awaits you.

So, you will find, among other things, furniture from Mercedes car parts, coffee tables from recycled scrap, an autorickshaw decked up in Gond art and many other unique designs and artwork.

Artists are showcased 10 unique cars in varied colours and designs. The frame of a Jaguar KidCar was all set to be painted as a tribute to the 41 jawans martyred in Pulwama.

The unique festival is being held by Rajasthan-based Cartist. The festival is travelling to 21 cities in 80 days, After covering Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Goa, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam, it arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
