New Delhi: Gautam Adani has come a long way since establishing Adani Group in 1988.
Three decades and a half later, he is one of India’s most successful industrialists and the world’s 8th richest man, courtesy the multinational conglomerate he has established.
He can be the subject of a fascinating story as not many know how he created something so big.
Business journalist RN Bhaskar, who has followed Adani’s career closely, has been tasked with the job of penning the billionaire’s biography.
Titled ‘Gautam Adani: The Man Who Changed India’, the book will narrate his journey – starting from childhood, his motivation, and other aspects of his life.
The book, to be published by the Penguin group, is scheduled will hit the stands in October 2022.
The author said he first met Adani 18 years ago, when the Mundra Port was being built.
“What I saw then, and what I learnt from my discussions with key Adani group people, was that this port could change the trans-shipment landscape for the Middle East and India. It could reshape logistics, and even make Mundra the country’s first destination port,” Bhaskar said.
Bhaskar wrote a cover story for a publication titled, ‘The man who could change India’.
“18 years later, I discovered that he actually has,” Bhaskar added.
