Bhubaneswar: Condemning Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP Yuva Morcha staged a protest and burnt the former’s effigy in Odisha capital on Saturday.
Hundreds of members and activists of the BJP Yuva Morcha took out a rally in protest against defamatory remarks by Bhutto during a press conference at the United Nations in New York. They burnt an effigy of Pakistan Foreign Minister near Ram Mandir in the city.
Speaking to the media, state president of the BJP Yuva Morcha Irasish Acharya said while Pakistan has turned the breeding ground of terrorists and has been condemned worldwide for patronising terrorism, the statement of its foreign minister in the United Nations against Indian Prime Minister, who has been acclaimed as a global leader, reflects the neighbouring country’s narrow mindset.
Bhutto’s comments followed a response to a question by Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar from a Pakistani journalist, who accused India of spreading terror. “It is the ministers of Pakistan who will tell how long Pakistan intends to practise terrorism,” Jaishankar said.
In response to Jaishankar’s remark, Bilawal unleashed a series of personal attacks on Modi and hit out at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The derogatory remarks by Bilawal Bhutto have sparked outrage across the country.
