Bhubaneswar: In order to facilitate the construction of vehicle under-pass (VUP) at Sikharpur in Cuttack, the Commissionerate of Police has issued a traffic diversification plan with effect from Friday.
According to a public notice of the Police Commissionerate, the construction of VUP has been taken up by National Highway Authority of India (MHAI) at Sikharpur.
For free flow of traffic at National Highway 16 and approaching roads and safety of commuters, the movement of the vehicles
will be diverted as per following:
- All the vehicles on NH-16 coming from OMP side will take diversion of 400 metre before Sikharpur Chhak towards service road and approach NH ahead of Sikharpur Chhak
- The vehicles coming from Jobra side intending to go towards Jagatpur or OMP will avail left side service road after crossing Kaliaboda VUP
- No vehicle will be allowed to ply on the right service road from Kaliaboda Chhak to Sikharpur
- The vehicles coming from Mahanadi Vihar side intending to go towards Jagatpur will avail the road via OMP Square VUP and approach NH ahead of Sikharpur Chhak.
- The vehicles intending to go to Jobra will also avail the OMP square VUP and go through the service road from Sikharpur towards Kaliaboda.
The diversion of vehicular traffic will remain in force for 180 days from March 18 to September 13.
