Commissionerate Police chalks out traffic diversion plan for Durga Puja

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police has chalked out a traffic diversion plan for different routes in the state capital to ensure hassle-free movement of vehicles during Durga Puja.

As per a notification issued in this regard on Saturday, restriction will be imposed on movement of vehicles from September 26 to October 1 (between 4 pm to 2 am).

No heavy vehicle will be allowed to ply from Khandagiri to Pokhariput crossings via Jagamara and Ganfamunda crossings, fire training school crossing to Sisu Bhawan crossing via Paikanagar, Siripur and Ganga Nagar crossings.

Similarly, movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted from CRP Square to Power House crossing via Stewart School and Unit-8 DAV School crossings.

Besides, vehicular traffic will also be stopped from Jaydev Vihar to Raj Bhawan crossings via Behera Sahi and Sashtri Nagar crossings, Jaydev Vihar to new airport crossing via Nicco Park, Patel Marg, Housing Board, Rabindra Mandap and AG crossings.

Similar restrictions will also be imposed from Acharya Vihar to Kalinga Hospital crossing via Sainik School crossing and Vani Vihar crossing to Sisu Bhawan crossing via Rupali, Satya Nagar, Ram Mandir, Master Canteen and Rajmahal crossings.

Vehicular movement will not be allowed between Rasulgarh and Lingipur crossings via Bomikhal, Laxmisagar, Kalpana, Ravi Talkies and Samantarapur crossings. The restriction will extend to service roads on National Highway-16 from Baramunda to Palasuni.

However, passenger buses coming from Puri to Bhubaneswar will be allowed to ply from Lingipur to Barmunda bus stand via Samantarapur, Kalpana, Rajmahal, Sisu Bhawan, Ganga Nagar and fire training school. Similarly, buses coming from Baramunda towards Puri will ply on the same route up to Sisu Bhawan crossing and then through Mausima, State Museum, Samantarapur crossings to Lingipur on the national highway.
