Cuttack: A constable from the Commissionerate Police in Cuttack has tested positive for COVID-19, Cuttack DCP Akhileshwar Singh informed.
The official has been identified as a constable serving at Mangalabagh outpost in Cuttack. Concerns have been raised after the constable was identified as coronavirus positive.
Following which the swab test of 57 police personnel will be conducted on Friday.
Similarly, five more coronavirus positive cases were identified from the SCB Medical College and Hospital, the district administration informed.
On the other hand, eight more coronavirus cases have been identified from Choudwar Jail. Five of them are convicts and three are under-trial prisoners, said Subhakanta Mishra, Superintendent, Choudwar Jail.
With five deaths and 612 recoveries, the Cuttack district now has 266 active cases.
