Efforts are on to nab a contractor Pankaj Sharma, who had allegedly hatched the murder plan. Giving reasons, the DCP said Yadav was in an relationship with Pankaj’s wife. The two had eloped to Bihar last year but she returned home after the panchayat in Yadav’s native village settled the issue.

Yadav returned about three months before his murder and approached Munnilal for work following which they started working again.

During this time, Pankaj asked his uncle, Munnilal to eliminate him. Pankaj also gave him Rs 20,000 advance and assured to pay another Rs 20,000 after the murder, said Singh. Kailash was roped in by Munnilal.
