Commissionerate Police Notifies Traffic Restrictions On Independence Day In Bhubaneswar: Details Here

Bhubaneswar: In view of state-level parade on Independence Day at Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, the Police Commissionerate has imposed traffic regulations.

In a public notice, issued on Friday, Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarsi, Commissioner of Police, said huge congregation is expected at the parade which may cause serious traffic congestion around the Exhibition Ground, Unit III in Bhubaneswar. VIPs and other dignitaries will also attend the function.

The rehearsal parade will be held from 3 pm on August 11 & 12 and from 9 am on August 13 at the Exhibition Ground.

In order to regulate traffic, the following restrictions on traffic movement around Exhibition Ground in the interest of public safety, traffic and convenience will be in force on Independence Day:

  • No vehicle will be allowed to ply between MBS blocking-St Joseph lane blocking stretch of Ram Mandir-Housing Board Square road from 6.30 am on August 15 till the parade is over.
  • Vehicles coming from Housing Board to go towards Ram Mandir will be allowed upto MBS lane blocking at Housing Board square where those will be diverted towards Kendria Vidyalaya lane. Similarly, vehicles coming from Ram Mandir square to go towards Housing Board square will be allowed upto St Joseph lane where those will be diverted towards Kendria Vidyalaya lane exiting out at MBS lane blocking near Housing board square.
  • There will be a blocking at Hotel Charlie lane where vehicles coming from PMG, Kesari talkies side will be diverted towards Sachivalaya Marg. There will be blocking at lanes exiting out at Gate No. I & II emerging from Sachivalaya Marg.
  • Lanes emerging from Kendriya Vidyalaya lane exiting out at Housing Board-Ram Mandir road will be blocked and there will be no vehicular movement on MBS blocking-St Joseph lane blocking stretch.
  • There will be designated parking spaces as listed below:
    1. VVIP parking at right flank of Gate No-I.
    2. VIP parking at left flank of Gate No-II & right flank of Gate No-III.
    3. Media parking at left flank of Gate No-V.
    4. General/invitees parking at left flank of Gate No-V.
    5. Participating contingents parking at MBS blocking-St Joseph lane blocking stretch (on Housing board-Ram Mandir road) which include parking of Police vehicles.
