Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday shut down a shopping mall located in Rasulgarh area of Bhubaneswar over parking menace.
According to Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, the mall did not have ample parking space for shoppers due to which the latter parked their vehicle on main road creating trouble for commuters.
“The trouble compounded on weekends when traffic flow is high and footfall in the mall is more,” said Singh.
The action to shut down the mall was initiated by local police and traffic wing.
“We have asked commercial establishments in the city to provide adequate parking space. Similar action will be taken against any establishment which violates the regulations,” the DCP added.
