Bhubaneswar: A complaint has been against five persons involved in the Kangaroo court incident during which a young girl was allegedly tied pillar of a house and brutally thrashed in full public view in Odisha capital.
The video of the incident, which took place on Monday night at Jagannath Leprosy colony under Mancheswar police limits, has gone viral. Police rescued the girl after getting information about the incident and registered a case, taking suo moto cognizance of the matter.
Deep injury marks were spotted on the hand and the body of the girl, sources said.
While a police team visited the colony and questioned a few people on Wednesday, the victim will be made to undergo a medical examination and then her statement will be recorded under Section. 161 of CrPC. She was allegedly punished after a few women in the colony caught her speaking to a male friend after being warned against it, the sources added.
