Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed
officers concerned to complete construction of 20 lakh pucca houses
by Dec 2018.
Chairing a meeting at state secretariat here, the CM asked the
government officials to ensure that genuine beneficiaries get benefits
under the rural housing scheme. Odisha has emerged as a model state in
the country in pucca house construction programme.
Naveen also advised them to develop a special application to store the
names and photographs of the houses provided to the beneficiaries in
the public portal.
During the meeting, it was informed that the government had started
the scheme for providing pucca house to all rural households in
2014-15 financial year with investment from its own fund. A total of
14,11,280 pucca houses have so far been constructed in the state.
