Bhubaneswar: The computer-based test of Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2018 in Odisha was postponed due to software problems on Saturday.
The eligible candidates had turned up at different centres across the state to appear at Paper I of the examination for recruitment to the posts of sub-inspectors. But they failed to download the question paper on the computers at many examination centres.
It led the candidates to raise objections and protest against CPSE authorities at examination centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Choudwar. They demanded the test to be scrapped and rescheduled, sources said.
They were pacified after the CPSE authorities admitted problem in the software for the test. Sudhansu Sarangi, Chairman, Odisha Police Recruitment Board said the examination has been postponed.
“The examination of Paper-I in CPSE 2018 has been postponed because of software issues. It will be held on a date which will be announced shortly. No candidate will be denied to appear at the test,” Sarangi said in a tweet.
