Condition Of COVID-Infected Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam Critical

Chennai: The condition of singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who tested positive for COVID-19 in the first week of August, has deteriorated. He has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is on life support in a private hospital here.

According to a medical bulletin, his condition worsened on Thursday night.

“There has been a setback in the health of Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare for symptoms of COVID since 5th August. In a late night development on 13th August, his condition deteriorated, and based on the advice of expert medical team attending to him, he has been moved to the ICU and is on life support… his condition remains critical. He is currently under observation by the team of experts from critical care and his haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored,” stated the hospital bulletin.

SP, as he is popularly called, was hospitalized on August 5 after testing positive for novel coronavirus. He released a video from the hospital, saying that he had mild symptoms.

Within a week, however, his condition has taken a turn for the worse. His fans have been wishing him speedy recovery on social media.
