Srinagar: A captured terrorist has confessed that he had been sent to India on a suicide mission by a colonel of the Pakistani army.
Identified as Tabarak Hussain by ANI, the terrorist is undergoing treatment an Indian Army facility in Kashmir.
Hussain told the news agency that he had been paid Rs 30,000 to target the Indian Army. There were four-five other accomplices who were to jointly carry out the mission, and they had already conducted two or three recces.
“I, along with four-five others had come here on a suicide mission, sent by Colonel Yunus of the Pakistan Army. He gave me Rs 30,000 to target the Indian Army. Had recced 1-2 posts of the Indian Army,” Hussain is heard saying in a video clip posted by ANI.
Indian Army personnel reportedly captured Hussain on August 21 along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jhangar sector of Naushera in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri.
Hussain, who had bullet wounds in his thigh and shoulder, was in a critical condition, according to a spokesperson of the Army.
Brigadier Rajeev Nair said Army officials donated blood to the terrorist, who was treated like any other patient to save his life.
“Members of our team gave him three bottles of blood, he was operated on and put in the ICU. He is stable now but will take a few weeks to recover,” Brigadier Nair said.
