Cong Doubts Odisha CB Probe In Naba Das Murder, Lists Out ‘Failures’ In Pari Murder To Kunduli Rape Case

Bhubaneswar: Raising questions on the ongoing probe into Odisha Health Minister Naba Das murder, the student wing of state Congress on Tuesday alleged that investigation is not on the right track and Crime Branch’s credibility is always under doubt.

Claiming that the state government has never been able to give justice in all major criminal cases, state Congress student wing President Yasir Nawaz said people are aware of the outcome of probe in cases including Pari murder case to Kunduli episode.

The state Home department and law and order machinery appears to have collapsed, he claimed, adding that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been silent on the sensational Naba Das murder case despite being in charge of Home department.

Minister of State for Home Tusharkanti Behera has also not uttered a word about the investigation in the murder case, he said, adding all these show that the probe is not moving in the right direction.

Claiming that the credibility of the Crime Branch has always been questioned, Nawaz said a senior BJD leader’s name was included in the FIR in Mahanga murder case only after the intervention of the court.

Common people cannot feel safe and secure in a state where a cabinet Minister is killed by a police official, he said, accusing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of having failed to discharge his duty.

Therefore, Naveen must resign forthwith, he said, demanding probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into Naba Das murder.
