Bhubaneswar: Senior leaders of Congress party Digvijay Singh and Jayram Ramesh arrived at Odisha capital on Saturday on a two-day visit to the state.
The two MPs will attend a meeting with party leaders and workers at Congress Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. They will discuss the preparations for Odisha leg of the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The Congress party’s 3,570 km and 150-day foot march started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7 and will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir. The party’s premier leader Rahul Gandhi kick-started the 10th day of the Yatra in Kerala on Saturday.
According to the party, the aim of this Yatra is to unite for India, come together and strengthen the nation. The Yatra will pass through 12 states before culminating in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior leaders of the party will actively participate in the yatra. Those who are unable to join the Yatra, will help spread its message by organising events and participating in online campaigns.
