Bhubaneswar: Opposing the Centre’s decision to withdraw subsidy on LPG, members of Youth Congress staged a massive demonstration at Lower PMG here on Sunday.
The protestors also blocked the road near Master Canteen Square by burning tyres. Vehicles were stranded on either side of the busy junction, owing to the blockade that continued for more than 30 minutes.
Describing the BJP-led NDA government as anti-poor, a party leader said the beneficiaries under the Ujjwala Yojana will also be affected by the move. “The agitation will be intensified in the coming days, if the Cente fails to roll back the decision with immediate effect,” the leader added.
