New Delhi: The election manifesto of Congress, released on Friday, is based on ‘Paanch Nyay’ or five pillars of justice. The five pillars, with five ‘guarantees’ under each – are ‘Yuva Nyay’ (for youth), ‘Naari Nyay’ (for women), ‘Kisaan Nyay’ (for farmers), ‘Shramik Nyay’ (for labourers) and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ (opportunities as per proportion in population).
Congress became the first of the country’s two major political parties to release their manifesto for the next five years. The document was launched by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of senior leaders, at the party headquarters in Delhi. On Saturday, the party will hold two ‘Manifesto launch mega rallies,’ one each in Jaipur and Hyderabad.
The party has promised to launch a Mahalakshmi scheme across the country under which it will provide ₹1 lakh per year to every poor Indian family as an “unconditional cash transfer”.
Congress party said that it will give 10% of reservation in jobs and educational institutions for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) for all castes and communities without discrimination if comes to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Congress Nyay Patra mentioned that the party would immediately restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir if they come to power. Additionally, the party has promised to abolish the “Agnipath programme”, introduced by the BJP government in 2022.
