Bhubaneswar: With the ensuing Assembly and Lok Sabha elections scheduled for next year, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has convened a meeting of the party legislature meeting on Sunday to discuss the poll strategy.
“We will inform the people about the practicality of the election manifesto of the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government. The meeting will decide the manner in which the party will be able to convince the people,” secretary of the Congress Legislature Party Bhujabal Majhi told mediapersons here.
Apart from this, the meeting will decide to put up some specific problems in the districts in the State Assembly, he added.
Asked about the meeting, OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik said the BJD and the BJP have already begun poll preparations while the Congress will begin its preparation after August 15.
He said apart from the discussion on the poll strategy, the meeting will discuss about the measures to be taken to strengthen the party base at the grassroots level.
The meeting, scheduled at Congress Bhawan in the evening, will be presided over by the OPCC president in the presence of AICC secretary in-charge of Odisha Jitender Singh and other OPCC office-bearers.
