Congress MLA Tears His Kurta In Front Of Mediapersons; Know Others Who Have Done It Before

New Delhi: Congress MLA Babu Jandel Meena tore his Kurta in Madhya Pradesh Assembly after the house adjourned sine die, Times of India reported.

The Congress MLA said that people of his flood-hit constituency Sheopur don’t have food and other essentials but the state government has not taken care of them. He urged immediate relief for the people and threatened to gherao the collectorate if demands were not fulfilled, the report added.

Earlier, in April this year, a BJP MLA in UP’s Pratapgarh district created a ruckus outside the residence of the District Magistrate today, alleging a threat to his life from the Pratapgarh SP. Pratapgarh BJP MLA Dheeraj Ojha tore his kurta and laid down on the ground outside the DM’s residence in Raniganj.

In August 2019, as soon as home minister Amit Shah announced the government’s move to abrogate Article 370 that gives special status to the state, Peoples Democratic Party’s Rajya Sabha MP tore his kurta before he and another party MP were asked to leave the House.

In February 2014, Rashtriya Lok Dal MLAs took off their kurtas and stood on the tables of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
