Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge will be visiting Odisha in the first week of January, next year, to kick start party’s campaign for 2024 elections.
This followed a meeting between Kharge and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak and state in-charge A Chellakumar in New Delhi to discuss the political situation in the state.
Pattanayak, who was a 3-day visit to the national capital, confirmed that AICC president had given his consent to visit the state in January. “The date and detailed programme of the party president will be announced soon,” he said, adding that other national leaders will also visit Odisha and address public meetings in January.
Kharge is expected to address a rally in Bhubaneswar and another in a western Odisha.
