Congress Stages Demo Against Fuel Price Hike In Cuttack

Cuttack: The activists of Cuttack Nagar Congress on Thursday staged peaceful demonstrations at different petrol pumps in the city to protest against the steep rise in petrol and diesel prices.

Holding placards and banners, the party workers picketed at different petrol pumps. They also appealed to the people and petrol pump owners to participate in the protest.

“The steep hike in fuel prices will have a cascading impact on different essential commodities, burdening the common man,” said Cuttack Nagar Congress president Mohammed Moquim, who led the protest.

Petrol and diesel prices in Indian are much higher than other countries. “For the first time ever, petrol price crossed Rs 76 per litre in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. This is the result of the poor policies of the NDA Government at the Centre. We condemn such move and demand immediate rollback of fuel price,” Mukim added.
