Congress Slams Mohan Majhi For Criticising Hand Party On J&K Alliance; 10 Questions To Rahul Gandhi

Bhubaneswar: The Congress has come down heavily on Chief Minister Mohan Majhi for questioning Rahul Gandhi over the party’s alliance with National Conference (NC) for Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) election beginning September 18.

“Teleprompter Chief Minister of Odisha who is running to Delhi to take orders on how to govern Odisha has found time to criticise Congress on Kashmir issue. I am not questioning him on his experience to speak on national issues but I would like to ask him if he has forgotten his own party’s alliance with NC during Vajpayee Ji? Has he forgotten BJP alliance with PDP? Who visited Pakistan and started friendship bus which was followed by Kargil? Who went to Pakistan and had Biriyani there?” asked Congress leader Biswaranjan Mohanty.

While calling the CM’s statement hilarious, he said that it was an attempt to divert public perception at a time when Congress was raising the issue of reservation and caste census in the state Assembly. “Instead of public postering on issues like Kashmir, Odisha CM should focus on emergent issues of the state,” he added.

On Sunday, Majhi launched a blistering attack on Congress over its alliance with NC and posed 10 questions to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He sought clarification on whether the Congress endorsed NC’s promise of a separate flag for J&K.

Majhi also asked if the Congress supports the regional party’s election manifesto for restoration of Article 370 and 35A and thereby push J&K back into an era of unrest and terrorism. “Congress without power is like a fish out of water. Blinded by greed for power, Congress never hesitates to create instability in the country by aligning with divisive and anti-national forces. The party has always put national unity and security at risk to fulfil its selfish motive of gaining power,” he alleged.

Here are some of the other questions posed by the CM:

>> Does Congress support talks with Pakistan, our arch-enemy, thereby encouraging separatists?”

>> Does the Congress support the NC’s decision to provide govt jobs to individuals involved in terrorist and stone-pelting activities and their family members?

>> Is there a conspiracy to end the reservation system, thereby causing injustice to Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals and residents of hilly areas?

>> Does Congress support the NC’s conspiracy to rename ‘Shankaracharya Hill’ as ‘Takht-e-Suleiman’ and ‘Hari Parbat’ as ‘Koh-e-Maran’?

>> Does the Congress support the political move to push J&K’s economy back into corruption and transfer it to a specific Pakistan-supported family?”

>> Does the Congress want to create instability by fostering divisions between the residents of Jammu and the Valley?
