Congress Worker’s Body Found Stuffed In Suitcase On Rohtak-Delhi Highway

Rohtak: The body of a 22-year-old woman, stuffed in a suitcase, was found near the Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi Highway on Saturday. According to the reports, the woman was a Congress worker and associated with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The victim has been identified as Himani Narwal from Kathura village in Sonepat. She had also been involved in various political events, including those with Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda.

Narwal was known for performing with Haryanvi folk artistes at Congress rallies and social events.
Commuters noticed the abandoned suitcase and alerted cops, who opened the suitcase and found Narwal’s body with visible injury marks on the neck. The forensic teams were called to the scene to collect evidence, reported the Hindustan Times. “We suspect she was killed elsewhere before her body was stuffed in the suitcase and dumped here. CCTV footage is being analysed to determine when the suitcase was left at the spot,” cops told Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders expressed outrage over Narwal’s murder and demanded a thorough investigation.
According to the report, cops have booked unknown persons under sections 103(1) and 238(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on a complaint filed by a sub-inspector posted at Sampla police station.

In his complaint, the cop said that he, along with his colleagues, was checking vehicles and they spotted a suitcase nearly 80 metres from the Rohtak-Delhi highway in Sampla.
Probe is underway.
