Bhubaneswar: A police constable, identified as J. Bharimal, has been arrested for allegedly peddling brown sugar in the city.
He is currently posted in Police Reserve.
He was caught red-handed while selling the contraband at Behera Sahu under Naypalli police station limits on Wednesday evening.
Nayapalli police also seized 30 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
Notably, Bharimal was arrested in a murder case in 2008. He had rejoined service after being acquitted by court. He was also allegedly involvement in illegal mining in Khurda.
