Bhubaneswar: A police constable was allegedly stabbed while probing an altercation over honking in Odisha capital on Thursday.
The incident has been reported from Sriram Nagar area in Chakeisiani under Mancheswar police limits here.
According to sources, two youths on a motorcycle began honking late at night when four others, sitting near Sriram Nagar, opposed them. The two groups indulged in an altercation which led to a fist fight. On receiving the information, a PCR van rushed to the spot. While trying to intervene and nab the troublemakers, a constable was stabbed by a youth.
The attacker was allegedly in an inebriated state, the police stated.
The injured policeman was shifted to Capital Hospital for treatment while Mancheswar police have registered a case and initiated a probe.
