Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said continuous industry feedback and support is necessary for healthy industrial development.

Addressing the national executive committee meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) here, he said that over 90 years of experience in representing the investor community, FICCI has made a remarkable contribution to industrial development in India. As the national industry partner for the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018, FICCI has played a very significant role, he added.

Stating that Odisha is emerging as a manufacturing hub in the east, the Chief Minister said the state government had been continuously working towards developing it as a global hub for industries in specific sectors. “I look forward to the continued support and engagement from the FICCI in the industrial journey of the state during and beyond the ‘Make in Odisha Conclave 2018’,” he expressed.

Pointing out that the state government had set the vision 2025 for industrial development in six sectors, the Chief Minister urged the FICCI to partner with the line departments in the successful implementation of various initiatives.

“Odisha is a pioneer state in skill development and through the ‘skilled in Odisha’ programme, we are making our youths industry-ready. I am pleased to inform you that the average time taken for project approvals in the state has come down to 20 days. I invite you all to explore business opportunities in Odisha and plan a long-term association with the state,” he added.
